Long known for the place to catch up on news or greet your neighbor, the Crystal Beach Post Office now has a new Message Board donated by the Crystal Beach Community Enrichment organization (a 501c3). Work was completed on April 29, 2010 with old board being salvaged for another deserving and needy location.

Take this time of remembrance of our Veterans to familiarize youself with a fomer resident of Crystal Beach and a member of the Legendary "Flying Tigers" or the All Volunteer Group (AVG) form the precursor to World War II. Lt. Col0nel Ed Janski lived in Crystal Beach at the Corner of Avery and Mayo with long time friend and Pilot Jack Kruzelock.
The history of the AVG is fascinating and undeniably deserved of honor and pride for the men who served.

The Crystal Beach Common Area known simply as "the Beach" continues to require ongoing day to day maintenance in the form of grass cutting, trimming, trash pickup, parking control, barriers, erosion control and general beach cleanup. The CBCA continues to sponsor these activities both on an ad-hoc and planned scheduled event basis. In recent months, the County Parks folks have lent a hand with some of the activities building a congenial relationship between the CBCA and the Parks Maintenance Division of Live Oak Park. Attached are some photos of improvements made the CBCA over the last year or so.

Annual Beach Cleanup Activities

In the old days the entrance to Crystal Beach was guarded by an arched entry way with signage that suffered complete irreparable damage due to impact with an automobile. Eventually a makeshift replacement was constructed from wood and stucco with a faux brick finish. This version also suffered a collision event from a weyward vehicle crash. The CBCA raised funds to replace the damaged sign with a new one in late 2001 on a much contested and congested small patch of dirt that supports a myriad of utilities including electric, fiber optics, reclaimed water, sewer and potable water supply to the neighborhood. Later plants and lights were added with our own power meter graciously donated by one of our local residents electrical company. Here are few pictures of the newest sign in its construction stage.
